Latest News concerning COVID-19

Antonine Village always strives for excellence and compassionate care. During the pandemic, we tried the best we could to take all measures necessary (CDC guidelines) to keep our facility COVID free and, thanks be to God, everyone was negative for a long time. As per Governor DeWine, we started allowing outdoor visitation with all the guidelines, social distancing, masks for everyone visiting as well as for the resident welcoming the visitors.
By now, you all, family members of our residents should have received the letter sent to you on October 5, informing you of our recent positive COVID-19 cases. We decided to use our website to update you on what’s happening and keeping you informed.
Only recently, Thursday, October 1, a resident who was hospitalized because of dehydration and weakness tested positive at the hospital.
Friday, October 2, we tested in our facility all residents on the same floor.
Saturday, October 3, the residents on the memory care floor were tested.
Sunday, October 4, all results of Assisted Living came back negative except for one resident who tested positive for COVID-19 and another one that was inconclusive. The resident with the positive result was sent to the hospital.
Monday, October 5, the resident whose result showed inconclusive was sent also to the hospital for showing signs of running nose and fatigue. At the hospital, she tested positive.
On the same day, October 5, all residents’ tests of the Memory Care Unit came back negative.
Tuesday, October 6, all staff were tested and are waiting for results.
Strict measures are being taken to keep everyone else safe. Residents are confined to their apartments and they’re being served by our caring staff, all with the CDC guidelines, keeping on surgical and KN95 masks, gloves, and hand-washing and/or using sanitizers.
The residents who are at the hospital have mild symptoms and they are doing better.
For your information, all residents will be tested again this week, the next, and every other week. Staff will be also checked every couple of weeks.
Please do not hesitate to call the facility for any questions or concerns. Also, keep checking our website for any upcoming news.
